Who We Are
At Shelton Minds, we are dedicated to creating an emotional shelter for neurodivergent individuals and care leavers. We believe in the power of shared experiences and offer tailored support that promotes well-being, resilience, and independence. Our services are designed to provide emotional shelter, life skills, and mentorship opportunities, empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges.
Our Vision
At Shelton Minds, we envision a world where neurodivergent individuals and care leavers are not only supported but understood, celebrated, and empowered. We work to create spaces where individuals can feel safe and accepted without the need to mask, fostering communities that build resilience, independence, and hope.
Inspired by Lived Experiences
Shelton Minds was founded by Deborah Shelton, whose personal journey as a neurodivergent individual and care leaver inspired the mission of the organization. Drawing from her own experiences with ADHD, Autism, and Bipolar Disorder, Deborah aims to create a safe space for those who often feel alone on their journey. Through this initiative, we provide practical support, advocacy, and empowerment to neurodivergent individuals and care leavers.
Our Values
We are driven by a core set of values that shape everything we do:
• Empathy: Understanding and valuing each individual’s unique journey.
• Inclusion: Providing a space where everyone feels safe and accepted.
• Empowerment: Helping individuals build confidence, independence, and self-advocacy.
• Collaboration: Working together to create positive change, both within our community and beyond.
